Movement does not have to start with standing up. Many effective activities can be done seated, and they count towards your weekly minutes just the same.

Ideas to try

  • Seated marching: lift alternate knees for a minute or two at a comfortable pace.
  • Arm circles and reaches: slow circles forwards and backwards, then reach towards the ceiling.
  • Shoulder rolls: a gentle way to loosen up between tasks.
  • Resistance band rows: loop a band around something sturdy and draw your elbows back.

Build it into your day

Linking movement to something you already do – a kettle boiling, an advert break, the end of a phone call – makes it easier to remember. Fluo lets you tell us you prefer seated activities, and your plan will reflect that.
