UK and World Health Organization guidance suggests adults aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, plus activities that strengthen the major muscles on two days. That can sound like a lot. It is really a direction of travel, not a pass mark.
What counts as moderate?
Moderate activity raises your heart rate and makes you breathe a little faster, while you can still hold a conversation. A brisk walk, a gentle cycle, dancing in the kitchen or pushing a wheelchair at a steady pace all count.
Start where you are
If you are mostly inactive today, any increase helps. Ten minutes a day, five days a week, is already fifty minutes. Fluo plans start from your current level and build up gradually, so the target becomes something you grow into rather than something you fail at.
Strength and balance matter too
Simple movements such as sit-to-stand from a chair, wall press-ups or standing on one leg while holding a worktop help keep everyday tasks easier. Your plan mixes these in on your chosen days.
This article is general guidance, not medical advice. If you have a health condition, speak to your GP or physiotherapist before changing how active you are.
